Happy Birthday Justin!!

Today is Justin's (Diego's little boy) 6th Birthday! We are sad to not be with him today, but we are sending birthday wishes his way...and presents of course!!! Hopefully he will get his presents next week, I am bothered I couldn't get them to him this week, $$ didn't have the right timing. But better late then never I guess! Here is a picture of him back in July (I am sure he has grown quite a lot since then!!).

What's going on in my home...

Well, my house is about 90% finished. We have our upstairs hallway, the stairway and in the formal living/dining room we have to paint the highest part by the ceiling (about a foot around the top of 4 of the walls). The thing is our formal living/dining room ceilings go to about 20ft at the highest part, so we have to rent a scaffold to be able to do it neatly :) But as for the kitchen, and family room then the little hallway that leads to my downstairs bathroom and laundry room are all done! Well, my husband wants to do a little more "touch-ups" because he is by far the BIGGEST perfectionist I have EVER met. I mean really, I thought I liked things a certain way, but good grief, this man is borderline OCD, LOL!!!!

So here are some pictures that I have taken so far, the batteries died on my camera and I haven't bought new ones... so what you see in the pictures, is already done! I have even put up my curtains in my family room!

See how tall the ceilings are!! WHOA BABY! The green you see carries through into my kitchen. I painted below and above my kitchen cabinets that color, it looks great! Can't wait to show you!

Doesn't the paint change look great! I am soooo super happy with it! The room to the back left is our family room, and it is already done w/curtains, so cute!

Is Hell freezing over??

LOL! "Hell" meaning the hot dessert of the Phoenix area, LOL!! So check this out yesterday we had some rain, not unusual..but then it started to hail. Now I have seen hail out here before but NEVER have I seen hail stick to the ground like snow!! Yes, it stuck for maybe 10 minutes but still! It looked crazy! Check out these pictures that I took!

Painting...I know..it is still goin' on...ugh!

So, we have came across some difficulties with painting. You see we have vaulted ceilings in our "big empty room" which is also known as, the formal living/dining room. The highest point of those vaulted ceiling go to about 20 feet!! Yikes!! Basically most everything is done, except that room. I painted the walls in that room about a foot away from the ceiling, b/c I wanted to make sure that we got it straight when it met the ceiling. Well we borrowed a really tall ladder from a friend, and that went down the drain! The ladder just didn't seem safe enough for my husband to go all the way up the ladder. So this Wednesday we are renting a 10 ft painting thing (can't remember the name, lol!) from a local store and we are going to FINISH it! Yes!!! Hooray!!!!

Even though the formal area isn't finished completely I am happy to say that my family room is pretty much done! My curtains are hung and everything! Yippeee!!! I can't wait to show pictures of it all! It has changed the look and feel of our home so much :)

So we are potty training.....

....well "we" aren't but ALEX IS!!!!!! Whoo Hoo!! It is fun seeing him wear the cute little boy undies!! He can be a little stubborn like, peeing in corners instead of telling, which means he knows exactly what he is doing so I know he is ready :) But I could live w/o the peeing on the floor for sure!!

It is a bitter/sweet moment because it does mean no more diapers!!! But then again it also means that my baby boy is getting big!! AHHHH!!! Here is a picture of him in his little man underwear! He is trying so hard to not smile, which causes his eyes to look super big and cute!

Getting back into the swing of things..and PAINT!

Well we are back from our journey to Oklahoma! We had a great time seeing everyone! I am so happy I got the opportunity to get back home. So we are home, and my goodness is it hard getting back "into the swing of things"!! I have been so tired! For 10 days I have been waking up a little later, going to bed way late and now I am totally off schedule! So are my kids! This week has been nothing but that!

Even though I am sad to have left "home" in OK, and I super excited to be back home to AZ! Why??? Because after 4 mths of waiting I am finally able to start painting!! I have saved up money to do so, and I am STOKED! I hate white walls! So I have picked out a neutral "tanish" color to go on my walls as a main color. This color will go through the whole entire house, hallways and all. Then for my formal living and dining room I have picked out an earth tone green to go on two of the walls as an accent color! I can't wait to put up pics when I am done! Then after all the paint is dry I am hanging my new curtains (for the family room/kitchen) they are super cute and are going to make if feel warm and cozy! I love warm/neutral colors in my home, because I like for it to give a warm/cozy feel. The curtains in the formal area have the same colors scheme that the family/kitchen has but in a more "elegant" way. I can't wait until it is all done!

We bought a foreclosure (that is only 3 yrs old) home so there are lots of marks on the wall, ugh. You see when you buy a new home (like our old house) the builders use a "flat" paint. Which means EVERY time you touch the walls, the grease from your fingers makes a mark because the flat paint is like chalk! Then when you go to wipe it off it spreads..UGH! That is what drove me crazy about our old house, I was constantly wiping the walls, b/c if you didn't keep up with it, it would look dirty. Well the previous people who lived in this home didn't keep up with it...and it is so out of control I don't know where to begin! You can't really tell in the pics, but up close you can. So every time someone comes over I always feel the need to explain that it was not my doing, that our home was foreclosed and came that way....AND that we are waiting to paint it! But after this week..I wont have to say that anymore!!! YEAH!!!!! Because all of it will be done!

Blogging from Oklahoma!!

Well God answered some prayers! Which means Diego, the kids and I all got to come out to OK for a vacation! It is great because it has been 2yrs since Diego has been out here :) We are having a wonderful time with the family! I am so happy to be here, I miss it very much... you have NO idea! My aunts from Kansas, Maryland and Texas have all came home as well, and it has been wonderful to see them! Of course seeing my mom, dad brothers and sisters have been the best as well!!
